Kiwanis Club of Midland

For over 100 years the Kiwanis Club of Midland has been dedicated to improving the quality of life for the people of the Midland community with emphasis on children and youth. We provide volunteer and financial support for projects that impact the children and youth in Midland County along with fellowship and personal growth for our members. The club meets every 2nd & 4th Monday at 6:00 PM at First United Methodist Church.
The Kiwanis Club of Midland works in partnership with Midland County’s many family centers, schools, and other non-profit organizations to construct playground equipment, provide pre-school scholarships, upgrade classroom equipment, recognize scholastic achievement, and support other projects. The club raises funds for these activities each year and also utilizes proceeds from its Kiwanis Foundation investment portfolio to invest in projects that improve the lives of Midland County’s youth and young children.

Public Arts Midland

Public Arts Midland is a space to help people create connections through public art. We believe that art connects, heals, inspires, teaches, and speaks to us in myriad ways that build stronger and more vibrant communities. Public art gives our community a collective voice and a way to express our values while it brings awareness of and beauty to our city’s physical and cultural landscape. The Mission of the West Midland Family Center is to enhance the quality of life for each generation by providing growth and achievement opportunities within a caring environment. We are a "full service" family center offering education, recreation, and human services.

Disability Network of Mid-Michigan

Disability Network of Mid-Michigan is leading the charge to change societal attitudes about people with disabilities, and to provide an environment where everyone, regardless of their abilities, can contribute to their communities based on their own interests, skills, and desires. Through a variety of services, DNMM provides assistance to people with disabilities, their families, and the community.

We empower people to live by the Independent Living philosophy: people with disabilities are the best experts over their lives, their dreams and goals. Disability Network Mid-Michigan is working to create accessible and inclusive communities where everyone can live, work, and play.

Disability Network of Mid-Michigan is a federally funded Center for Independent Living (CIL), a grassroots advocacy organization that promotes and encourages independence for all people with disabilities. We provide 5 core services in 12 counties in East Central Michigan. Our vision is to create accessible and inclusive communities where everyone has opportunities to live the lives they choose. We believe in the Independent Living Philosophy which postulates that people with disabilities are the best experts on their own needs.

The Job Applicant Perspective

We are a startup passionately interested in helping Job Seekers. We provide anonymous professional space for job seekers to post insights about what other job seekers should know about places to apply because we think the voice of the individual is often lost or overlooked. We are excited to support it, and we want to start local, with Midland and Midland job seekers. We also have links to Career Fairs in every state, and Unemployment and Welfare resources for job seekers too.




Children's Grief Center of the Great Lakes Bay Region

We provide a healing environment through peer support to children, teens, and their families who are grieving a death. Grief has no limits or boundaries. Every human will experience grief at some point in their lives, and we are here to support any human who seeks our services. We work to help anyone in our programs thrive through peer support, however, also look to see how we can look forward to expand our services to help the community as best as we can.

Our current peer support groups are free of charge. We welcome anyone to contact our office for information.

Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan

Make friends, go on adventures, and celebrate your unique strengths. Supported by adult volunteers and mentors right here in our community, as well as millions of alums around the globe, Girl Scouts lead the way as they discover who they are and how they can make the future a brighter place.

Girls in kindergarten through twelfth grade can join Girl Scouts at any time. Each level of Girl Scouts is unique with a wide variety of activities to try. As a Girl Scout progresses, the program allows them to explore their interests in a way that is meaningful—and age-appropriate—to them.

Midland Area Youth Action Council

The Midland Area Youth Action Council is a youth-led group of 6th-12th graders from Midland County who come together monthly during the school year to learn more about the needs of our citizens, to volunteer in our community, and to undertake grant making to organizations and programs that improve the lives of youth in Midland County. On an annual basis, we invest as much as $100,000 into our county’s youth initiatives through quarterly grants of up to $10,000 each and monthly mini-grants designed to support educators; local PTOs, teams, and booster clubs; and youth philanthropists.

The ROCK Center for Youth Development is a teen-focused organization that helps youth succeed and thrive. We are an independent, inclusive non-profit that provides developmental education, after-school programs, and community-based activities for middle and high school students. We aim to build tangible life skills, instill confidence, a sense of belonging, encourage healthy life choices and relationships in our teens.
