Faces of Midland is a collaborative storytelling project celebrating the vibrant lives of those who live, work, and thrive in Midland.
This storytelling project was created by Trisha Fenby and Reneé Deckrow of Captured Studio in partnership with the Midland Area Cultural Awareness Coalition. These two have selflessly shared their time and talents Trish interviewing and writing, Renee interviewing and photographing this wonderful collection of humans that are part of the Midland community.
The project launched during 2025’s Neighboring Week and is back with a new group of stories for 2026. The new stories are up to view at Live Oak Coffeehouse through the end of October as part of Global Diversity Month. The 2025 stories are on display at Grace A. Dow Memorial Library through October 16, 2026.
This page will serve as an archive, so these stories can live on and be accessed any time in the future. You are invited to read on and enjoy the remarkable stories of some of the people who make Midland a wonderful place. Click on an image to read each story. Some images will take you out to extended stories, some are on the images themselves.
