Join the first ever Michigan Refill Challenge in January!

With January being International Zero Waste Month, 10 of the 13 Michigan-based zero-waste refill shops in Michigan decided to team up for a huge state-wide sustainability push. All 13 refill shops are Women-owned small businesses, with a passion for taking better care of ourselves, our community, and the Earth. Our shops provide bulk options like shampoo, body wash, dish soap, laundry soap, and so much more. Customers come in (usually with their own containers) and refill whatever products they're after, which saves thousands of single-use plastics from ending up in landfills or unreliable recycling streams.

Because we're all very passionate about spreading the word on refilling and supporting one another, we decided to launch the first-ever Michigan Refill Challenge!

Throughout January, we’ll be promoting simple, practical actions that help reduce waste - one small step at a time. Together, we created a Michigan-wide BINGO card filled with fun, achievable zero waste actions. Complete squares, explore local refill options, try new habits, and get inspired by other Michiganders doing the same. Everyone who submits a completed BINGO card will be entered to win a statewide gift bundle filled with sustainable goodies from refill and zero waste shops across Michigan. Let’s make 2026 Michigan’s lowest-waste year yet.

About FILL

FILL is the Tri-Cities first zero waste refill shop, located in the heart of Downtown Midland. We encourage customers to bring their own containers to refill with our wide range of products, which are sold by the ounce. We offer clean, toxin-free home and personal care products, such as shampoo, body wash, dish soap, laundry detergent, and many household cleaning items. The refill model helps eliminate the need for thousands of single-use plastic containers that might otherwise end up in landfills or unreliable recycling streams.

Stop by at 133 Ashman Street.
