April is Child Abuse Prevention Month
Midland Child Advocacy Center invites you to join us in celebrating National Child Abuse Prevention month this April. Child Abuse Prevention month is a time for communities to raise awareness and inspire collective action so our children can lead their best lives.
Here are ideas for you to get involved and support kids in our community:
April 10th – Wear Blue Day: wear blue to support the importance of child abuse and neglect prevention on Friday April 10th and EVERY FRIDAY in April. Post a photo and tag Midland Child Advocacy Center.
April 10th – Pinwheels for Prevention Ceremony: Midland County Court House front lawn12:30pm-1pm, with Midland Sherif Scott Holzinger as Keynote Speaker. In addition, Suzanne Greenberg, Executive Director of Children Trust Michigan will be speaking. Join us in planting a Pinwheel Garden; pinwheels represent the hope, healing and happiness every child deserves. Midland CAC will also honor all Champion for Children nominees and announce this year’s Midland County Champion for Children award winner.
April 19th – Annual Midland CAC Superhero day at the Great Lakes Loons Game: All ages welcome! Our team members and volunteers will be on the concourse handing out free superhero capes and providing free face painting from 1-3pm. Get your tickets to the game now Midland Child Advocacy Center
April 22nd - Join us for a facility tour and experience the heart of our work as staff guide you through the spaces where children find comfort and courage, and caregivers experience compassionate care and support. May 14th – join us for our 13th Annual Art + Advocacy Event at Creative 360 from 5:30-9:00pm. Funds raised support our prevention and intervention programs and services throughout Midland County.
